Private Road and Shared Driveway Paving
Private road paving is its own animal. Heavier asphalt lifts, more attention to drainage, and often multiple property owners or an HOA who need to be on the same page before the work starts. We handle the coordination as part of the engagement.
We pave private roads and shared driveways across all of our service area, with particular concentration in the rural parts of Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon counties NJ where 500-2,000 ft shared drives are common, and across Northampton and Lehigh counties PA for HOA roads and condo communities.
The dual-state license matters here: many private roads cross municipal lines or sit on parcels that border the NJ/PA state line, and we can pave both sides with one crew.
Private Road Paving FAQs
How is private road paving different from a driveway?
Heavier lifts (2-3 inches of binder under the surface), more drainage planning (rural roads live or die by drainage), and coordination across multiple stakeholders. We also handle striping and signage if the road needs it.
Do you coordinate with HOAs?
Yes. We handle HOA-board presentations, multi-property easement work, and phased scheduling so the road is never fully closed if access matters.
Can you pave a private road in phases?
Yes. Long private roads or roads serving active properties often get done in sections so traffic isn't fully blocked. We schedule around the property owners.
Will you put a binder course on residential private roads?
When traffic load justifies it. A shared drive serving 3-5 homes with normal cars usually does fine on a residential spec. A shared drive that sees regular truck or farm-equipment traffic gets a binder course underneath.
Can you stripe and sign the road too?
Yes. Centerlines, edge lines, stop signs, and any other private-road signage you want can be installed in the same engagement.
